Personal Property Information

As the Louisiana Marine Debris Removal Program moves towards its objective of removing storm-related marine debris resulting from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, there arises a need to identify owners of personal property. The storms have left hundreds vessels severely damaged and unsalvageable, which remain in the waterways and can pose a threat to personal safety, the environment or both. Many of these are eligible to be removed under the program but the state must obtain property rights to the personal property before removing the vessels from waterways.

This site has been developed to assist in the identification of owners, so the Marine Debris Removal Program can remove vessels as soon as possible. Vessels eligible to be removed under the program can be viewed in Map or List view. An approximate location of the vessels, along with a photo and brief description are provided. If you wish to claim a listed vessel, or to provide information on the owner of any of the vessels on this site, please contact the state through the email address provided below.
